18th Congress of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care

With a focus on advanced anaesthesia technologies, comprehensive patient monitoring and the continuous improvement of clinical practice, the 18th Congress of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine was successfully held in Thessaloniki.

SANTAIR took part in the congress, presenting an integrated approach to modern anaesthesia and highlighting how different technologies can work together as a unified ecosystem, responding to the needs of both patients and anaesthesiologists.

Technology working as one integrated ecosystem

At the heart of SANTAIR’s presence were solutions from Getinge/Maquet, Philips and Masimo, demonstrating the value of combining different technologies within everyday clinical practice.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore:

  • Getinge/Maquet Flow Family anaesthesia machines

  • Philips patient monitors for comprehensive patient monitoring

  • Masimo Root, a platform supporting the monitoring of depth of anaesthesia, brain function and haemodynamic parameters

This approach shifts the focus from individual pieces of equipment to the patient as a whole. Safe anaesthesia delivery, continuous monitoring and the effective use of clinical data can work together to support anaesthesiologists throughout the decision-making process.

Minimal Flow Anaesthesia and Automatic Gas Control

Particular interest was generated by the presentation of Dr. Stefano Donato, entitled “Less is More: Minimal Flow Anesthesia with Automatic Gas Control (AGC)”.

The presentation provided a practical perspective on the importance of minimal-flow anaesthesia and automated gas management, highlighting clinical performance, efficiency and sustainability.

The discussion around minimal-flow anaesthesia is becoming increasingly relevant to modern anaesthetic practice, as technology can contribute to more efficient management of anaesthetic gases while supporting a more resource-efficient and environmentally responsible approach.

Bringing technology closer to everyday clinical practice

The strong attendance and particularly positive response from healthcare professionals highlighted the importance of presenting medical technology in a practical and clinically relevant way.

For SANTAIR, participation in the 18th Congress of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine provided another valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with the medical community and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and needs faced by healthcare professionals in their everyday practice.

Modern anaesthesia is not about a single machine. It is about bringing together technology, data and clinical expertise with one common goal: safer and better patient care.

SANTAIR would like to sincerely thank all healthcare professionals who visited our booth, engaged with our team and shared their experiences, needs and perspectives with us.
